In response to the ever-present need for high quality and efficient health care, in 2016 The University of Texas System began leveraging its lengthy history as one of the largest providers of telemedicine in the state to develop and implement a Virtual Health Network (VHN).

Expanding Clinical Services

The Virtual Health Network exists to enable University of Texas health care providers to bring expanded access to clinical care to patients across Texas. The vast network of medical experts with the UT system is ideally situated meet the needs of patients on a statewide level, and by leveraging available technology can reach people in even the most remote locations. Creating Technical Support Model

The clinical goals of the VHN would not be possible without technical support. For UT campuses and clinical partners, VHN staff offers assistance in the areas of clinical hardware procurement and installation, HIPAA compliant network connections, and software to enable secure document sharing and scheduling options in support of clinical operations.
